PURCELLVILLE, Va. March 16, 2023 – The Purcellville Arts Council (PAC) is pleased to announce the most recent art display in Town Hall featuring artists from DaVinci Art Studios. Join members of the PAC on Monday, March 27 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. to view more than 35 pieces of art created by 20 artists, hear from the artists, enjoy refreshments, and listen to live music by the Loudoun Symphony Youth Orchestra. The artwork is on display until April 30, 2023, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. except holidays.
DaVinci Art Studios is a division of Loudoun Arts for All, a fully inclusive visual and performing arts program that provides opportunities of discovery for all individuals. The DaVinci Art Program provides opportunities for artists of all abilities to enjoy the multiple benefits of creating artwork. DaVinci has two offerings. The first is Open Studio, in which participants aged 16 and older work on their own art and ideas. The second is Art Group, and it is designed to encourage self-expression and an interesting way to connect with peers. Artwork is shared and discussed with the group, offering a chance to not only discover art, but also something about oneself and each other.
The PAC is pleased to partner with DaVinci Art Studios to exhibit creations by many of their gifted artists as part of its Art in Town Hall program.
The first-floor corridors of Town Hall have a gallery-caliber hanging system which creates an opportunity for local artists to exhibit their work. Art exhibitions in Town Hall help ensure that all members of the public have access to art.
The Town of Purcellville, Virginia
“Purcellville-your small Town, where history and progress intersect and people prosper,” is an award-winning town of approximately 10,000 residents located in Loudoun County, approximately 50 miles west of Washington, DC. Having received the 2021 Virginia Municipal League Innovation Award for Environmental Sustainability and in years past, the prestigious Siemens Sustainability Award for Small Communities, Purcellville continues to be honored for innovation and green initiatives. The Town most recently received the Tree City USA Award for the 14th consecutive year. The Town was reaffirmed as a AAA rated community by S&P Global Ratings, the highest credit rating possible, and was ranked “Safest City” in Virginia in 2020. Once a stop along the W&OD rail line, which has been converted to a multi-use trail from Alexandria, VA to Purcellville, the Town has maintained its historic old-town feel through the restoration and maintenance of its many downtown structures, reflecting the Victorian architecture popular during the early 1900s. Today, Purcellville is the economic hub of western Loudoun County and a popular weekend destination for antiquing, equestrian activities, farmer’s markets, wineries, breweries, distilleries and restaurants.
