[ARCHIVED] News Release - Residents Urged to Apply Now For Utility Assistance

PURCELLVILLE, Va. ,December 10, 2020 — The income eligibility requirements have been removed for utility payment assistance available to Loudoun County residents who have experienced economic hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Residential customers, including those in the Town of Purcellville, can request assistance to pay their electric, water, and gas bills. You can also receive assistance for propane, oil or wood, if those are used for heating or cooking.

 

The program allows up to $1,750 per qualifying household, which can be used to pay past-due or current-month utility bills.

 

Program Requirements

  • A household in Loudoun County that is a current utility customer. 
  • All utility payments must have been paid in full as of March 31, 2020. Eligible payments include past due April to current bills. 
  • Can demonstrate hardship as a result of COVID-19.
