[ARCHIVED] News Release - Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Without Prejudice In Fraley V. Town of Purcellville

PURCELLVILLE, Va., May 22, 2020  The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia issued its ruling today on the case of Fraley v. Town of Purcellville, et al.  Mr. Fraley, a former police officer for the Town of Purcellville, filed a lawsuit asserting thirteen claims against numerous defendants, including the Town, relating to his employment.  The Town and other defendants moved to dismiss all of the claims as unfounded and improper.  The court found that all of Mr. Fraley’s thirteen counts were without merit and failed to state any claims under Virginia or Federal law, and dismissed the case against all defendants.  The dismissal was without prejudice, which means Mr. Fraley, if he chooses, has up to 30 days to attempt to amend his claims.
