[ARCHIVED] News Release - Real and Personal Property Tax Bill Due Dates Extended to June 22, 2020

PURCELLVILLE, Va. May 5, 2020 — In recognition of the difficult financial impact of the COVID-19 emergency, the Town of Purcellville has extended the real and personal property tax due date from June 5 to June 22, 2020.

According to the Town Manager, David Mekarski, “Fiscal year end and state code limited our ability to extend the due date beyond this date, however, the Town is committed to working with taxpayers impacted by this unprecedented emergency.  I asked my Finance team to cease any collections during the Town’s declared State of Emergency for COVID-19 and to be ready to set up payment plans for taxpayers impacted by this crisis.”

In order to establish a payment plan, taxpayers are encouraged to contact the Finance Department before the June 22, 2020 due date:

Residents and Businesses will receive 2020 tax bills in the mail over the next few weeks.  The Town offers a number of easy options for paying bills:

  • Payments can be dropped in the secure 24 hour drop box at Town Hall on the south side of the building (adjacent to J Street)
  • By Mail:  221 S. Nursery Ave., Purcellville, VA 20132
    • Postmarks by June 22nd are accepted as paid on time.
  • Additional online payment options can be found at: http://www.purcellvilleva.gov/payments.
