PURCELLVILLE, Va. August 2, 2019 -
07/26//2019 12:56 a.m. Harry Byrd Highway DWI
On the above date and time, an officer was conducting speed enforcement when he observed a vehicle pass his police car, proceed for another 100 yards and pull over to the right shoulder. As the car was not speeding, the officer simply observed the vehicle. After ten minutes, the officer approached the vehicle to see if the driver needed assistance. He observed the driver and lone occupant asleep at the wheel. After rousing the driver, he noted a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. The driver exited the car and was run through a battery of field sobriety tests, all of which he failed. The driver was taken to the jail and given a breathalyzer test, resulting in a BAC of .22

07/26/2019 1:05 a.m. 900 Block Devonshire Circle Destruction of Property
Officers responded to the above location for a report of destruction of property. The calling party reported finding her side gate open and flowers missing. The responding officer noted that it appeared that some flowers were cut and other appeared to have been eaten by wildlife. There are no suspects at this point.
7/27/2019 12:42 a.m. 745 E. Main Street Drunk in Public
Officers responded to the parking lot of the Purcellville Pub for a report that an intoxicated subject was about to drive a vehicle. Upon arrival, they observed a female behind the wheel of a parked car, speaking on a cell phone. The officers approached the car and engaged the occupant. They noted a strong odor of alcoholic beverage, slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. She was placed under arrest.

07/272019 9:52 a.m. 610 W. Main Street Larceny
On the above date and time, the reporting party arrived at the Purcellville Police Department and reported that sometime between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m. someone entered his unlocked vehicle, which was parked behind the Seven Eleven, and stole his wallet and assorted tools. He was unaware of the theft until alerted by his credit card company of unusual charges. The investigation is on-going.
07/272019 5:00 p.m. 100 Block N 16th Street Domestic Dispute
On the above date and time, officers responded to an apartment for a report of a domestic dispute. The reporting party asked for assistance in removing her boyfriend who spent most of his time playing video games and did not help with anything else. The boyfriend was not a permanent resident of the apartment. Officers assisted in mediating the dispute and the male subject left the dwelling.
07/28/2019 12:21 a.m. 121 Maple Avenue Drunk in Public/Warrant Service
On the above date and time, an officer was dispatched to the McDonald’s for a report of an unconscious male in the restaurant. The officer found a male subject, with a strong odor of marijuana emanating from his person passed out at a table. The subject was awoken and checked by medics and refused medical treatment. He provided a fake name to the officer who ultimately found his real ID. A wanted check revealed that the subject was wanted from Prince William County for failure to appear in court. The subject was charged with Drunk in Public and also served with the outstanding warrant.

07/28//2019 9:15 p.m. Hirst Road and 21st Street DWI/Refusal
On the above date and time, an officer was on patrol when he observed a vehicle disregard a stop sign and cross over the lane markers. The officer stopped the car and found that the driver had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage about her and other indices of intoxication. She failed a battery of sobriety tests and was arrested. The woman was also in possession of marijuana. She was charged with DWI, Refusal to take a breath test and Possession of marijuana.

07/30//2019 9:30 a.m. One Patrick Henry Circle Phone Threats
On the above date and time, an officer responded to the Home School Legal Defense Association because staff received a voice mail in which the caller threatened do harm because he disagreed with the Associations policies. An out of state phone number was associated with the call.
