News Release - Police Report

PURCELLVILLE, Va. July 8, 2019 - 


6/29/2019   11:47 a.m.                        McDaniel Drive at Oliver Court                    DUI

 On the above date and time, officers observed a vehicle occupied by a lone male turn onto McDaniel Drive and park. The driver stumbled out of the car towards the officers who, upon approach, noted a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. The driver failed a battery of field sobriety tests and was arrested. As this was a third offense he was charged with Felony DUI.

Arrested was:   Robert Frankel Jr.

06/30/2019    9:22 p.m.                       407 Browning Court                                      DUI 

 On the above date and time, an officer on patrol in the 400 block of Browning Court observed a vehicle doing a “burn-out” and a U-turn.  The officer stopped the car and approached the driver and noted a strong odor of alcoholic beverage about him.  The driver, who admitted to having “one or two beers” at Adroit Theory Brewery, failed a battery of field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI

7/02/2019     8:28 a.m.                        100 Block Misty Pond Terrance                    Destruction of Property

On the above date and time, an officer responded to the 100 block of Misty Pond Terrance a report of Destruction of Property. The victim stated that sometime between 1 and 7 a.m. of July 2nd, unknown subject(s) threw raw eggs at the windows of the residence and sprayed silly string in the driveway.   This may be related to a verbal dispute between known subjects.  No other residences in the area were victimized.   The investigation is on-going.

07/02/2019    4:46 p.m.                       761 E. Main Street                                         Disorderly Subject 

On the above date and time, an officer responded to the Walgreen Pharmacy for the report of a disorderly person. The pharmacist reported that a known subject became upset because they did not have a controlled substance in stock, for which the subject had a prescription. The subject left the store when police were called. 

07/03/2019    9:54 a.m.                       400 Block of E. E Street                                 Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 

The reporting party stated that sometime between July 3rd at 8:33 p.m. and July 4th at 6:00 a.m. a family member took her vehicle without permission. She later learned that the vehicle had been wrecked in Washington DC while the known family member was driving it.  The responding officer spoke with DC Police and provide the complainant with the tow firm information to aid in the recovery of her car. 

Upon further reflection the reporting party did not wish to prosecute.

07/04/2019    1:41 P.M.          Maple Avenue at Wordsworth Circle                                    Pedestrian Accident 

On the above date and time, officers responded to the intersection of Maple Avenue and Wordsworth Circle for an accident involving a pedestrian. The investigation revealed that a juvenile jumped from a float participating in the July 4th parade, in order to pass out candy and fell in such a manner that his leg was struck by the tire of the trailer from which he jumped.  The victim suffered minor injuries.
