News Release - Police Report

PURCELLVILLE, Va. February 8, 2019 - 

***Note: This report covers two weeks***

1/25/2019 – 2:21 p.m. 000 Blk. Patrick Henry Cir Fraud

Victim reported that payroll checks had been diverted to a different bank. Upon closer investigation it was determined that this was a result of fraudulent emails requesting change of direct deposit.


1/25/2019 – 3:50 p.m. 1200 Blk. Wolf Rock Dr. Peddler

Business reported that a white male entered the business and handed cashier a note. The note was asking for money but not threatening.


1/25/2019 – 5:58 p.m. 100 Blk. W. Main St Found Property

A set of car keys was found and turned over to police for safe keeping.


1/26/2019 – 1:10 a.m. 100 Blk. E. Nichols Ln. Narcotics Violation

 Police officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction. During the investigation suspected narcotics were located in the vehicle. Robert Jerome King, 22 year old male from Winchester, VA was arrested for possession of marijuana. He was released on a summons to appear in court.


1/26/2019 – 12:21 p.m. 100 Blk. N. 21st Street Vandalism

Unknown person(s) placed stickers on multiple light posts and signs. Stickers were removed with minor damage to the light posts.


1/27/2019 – 8:59 a.m. 900 Blk. Devonshire Cir. Vandalism

Victim reported that sometime around 1:30 a.m. someone threw a brick at their vehicle causing significant damage to the vehicle. The case is under investigation.


2/2/2019 – 11:10 a.m. 100 Blk. N. Bailey Ln. Narcotics Violation

Police officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction. During the investigation suspected narcotics were located in the vehicle. Joseph Thomas Ralston, 21 year old male from Waterford, VA was arrested for possession of marijuana. He was released on a summons to appear in court.

 

2/3/2019 – 6:12 p.m. 100 Blk. Purcellville Gateway Dr. Public Intoxication 

Police were called to a business for an intoxicated person being disorderly. Theresa D. Brocke, 56 year old female from Sterling, VA was arrested for being intoxicated in public. She was transported to the Loudoun County Jail and held until sober.


2/3/2019 – 12:42 a.m. 200 Blk. N. Maple Avenue DUI

Police officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction. During the investigation it was determined the juvenile driver was intoxicated. The juvenile was released to parents. Charges are pending.


2/4/2019 – 12:36 a.m. 400 Blk. E. Loudoun Valley Dr. DUI

Police were contacted about a subject who was intoxicated and being disorderly. Police stopped the suspect’s vehicle and determined that he was intoxicated. Gregory Lynn Doyle, 28 year old male from Leesburg, VA was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Loudoun County Jail and held until sober.


2/5/2019 – 3:59 p.m. 800 Blk. Saville Row Ter. Larceny

Victim reported that sometime over the past four weeks, someone stole the license plate off of their vehicle.


2/5/2019 – 5:48 p.m. 400 Blk. Bollingbrook Ct. Fraud

Victim reported that they received a fraudulent email that appeared to come from his boss asking them to purchase multiple gift cards. It was confirmed that this was a phishing scam.


2/6/2019 – 4:28 p.m. 500 Blk. Wordsworth Cir. Fraud

Victim reported that someone had opened up a credit card account using their information.
