[ARCHIVED] News Release - Town Council Selects John Anzivino as Interim Town Manager

PURCELLVILLE, Va. December 12, 2017 — In a unanimous decision, the Purcellville Town Council has approved the hiring of John Anzivino as Interim Town Manager to ensure a continued strong service to the people of the Town and fulfilling a promise made on November 21, 2017 when the Town put its previous Interim Town Manager on paid administrative leave.

Last Thursday, The Town approved the law firm of Wilson Elser to lead our open investigations and internal reviews. To ensure the integrity of the Chief investigation, the Council approved the services of former police chief and colonel, Thierry Dupuis, to assist Wilson Elser with the Chief McAlister investigation audit.

“This is another step forward in resolving the challenges we face and strengthening and transforming our organization,” said Mayor Kwasi Fraser. “Mr. Anzivino will work with the department heads, management team and staff to keep the Town moving in a forward direction serving our citizens and ensuring proper function of services."

In addition, Mr. Anzivino will take steps to pursue an operational assessment and audit. The Town continues its process to find a permanent Town Manager and anticipate action in the first quarter of 2018.
