PURCELLVILLE, VA. November 29, 2017— The Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is now accepting applications from local organizations for the Annual Sports League Funding. The due date for applications is Sunday, December 31, 2017 by 5 p.m. To be eligible for funding, applicant organizations must serve the Town of Purcellville area, have citizens of the Town of Purcellville as players, and provide a letter to the Town from the IRS confirming the organization’s tax exempt status. Priority consideration will be given to sports teams from Purcellville that have an open participation policy where all players are allowed to play regardless of skill level.
Last year, 6 organizations received funds to support their programs, including the Catoctin Basketball Club, the Franklin Park Stingrays, Greater Loudoun Babe Ruth, LoCo Motion, Western Loudoun Girls Softball, and Western Loudoun Volleyball.
The Town of Purcellville has $5,000 allocated in the FY 2018 budget for these grants. The application is on the Town’s website at www.purcellvilleva.gov .
