[ARCHIVED] News Release - N. Maple Ave. Water Main Replacement Begins Night Work

PURCELLVILLE, Va. September 8, 2017 — Beginning the evening of Sunday, September 10th and continuing through the end of the month, the Town’s Contractor, Jefferson Asphalt Products Company, who is constructing the North Maple Avenue Water Main Replacement project, will shift from daytime operations to night work hours.  From 10 PM to 5 AM nightly during the week of September 10th, the Contractor will be installing the remaining water line and connection to the water main in the Main Street/Maple Avenue intersection.  This will require alternating lane closures on Main Street and Maple Avenue during these hours.  Please be aware of work zones, be alert for changes in vehicular and pedestrian traffic patterns, and follow all direction by law enforcement and/or flagging operations.

During the subsequent weeks of September 17th and September 24th, between the hours of 10 PM to 6 AM, the Contractor will be switching over water services from the old water main to the new water main.  Affected customers will be notified in advance of water shut-offs.  Again, the Town asks residents to be aware of work zones and alert for changes in vehicular and pedestrian traffic patterns in areas where work is being performed.

In case of inclement weather or unforeseen events, this schedule may change.
