[ARCHIVED] News Release - Tree Trimming at Fireman's Field

PURCELLVILLE, Va. May 9, 2017 — On Tuesday, May 9, 2017, the Town of Purcellville’s Tree Contractor, Arbogast Lawn and Tree Inc. will be trimming a white oak tree at Fireman’s Field. The reasoning for the trimming and removal of limbs is to preserve the quality of life of the tree.

The entrance to Fireman’s Field Parking lot via the 20th Street entrance is blocked for pedestrian and vehicle safety. The parking lot entrance will be closed up until 5 pm.

The 13-acre Fireman’s Field Park is located in the Purcellville Historic District and contains the town’s most significant remaining urban forest populated with trees ranging in size from small dogwoods to centuries old white oaks.
