PURCELLVILLE, Va. April 21, 2017 — On Tuesday, April 25th and Wednesday, April 26th, the Town’s Contractor URS/AECOM will be performing geotechnical drilling and infiltration testing at Hirst Farm Pond. Hirst Farm Pond is located off of Devonshire Circle in the Hirst Farm subdivision. The work is being done as a part of the Town’s contract with URS/AECOM to design the retrofit of the pond. This project will enhance the safety and functionality of the pond by converting its current design as a sediment basin to a Level I wet pond. The project is being funded in part by a Stormwater Local Assistance Fund (SLAF) grant awarded to the Town by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.
The work is expected to last only the two days, but the schedule is dependent on weather and other unforeseen conditions. The Contractor’s vehicles are clearly marked and employees will carry identification which they will produce upon request.
