[ARCHIVED] News Release - Final Round of Comprehensive Plan Workshops to be Held November 5 at 10:00 & 2:00

PURCELLVILLE, Va. November 1, 2016 — The Purcellville Planning Commission invites all members of the public to take part in the comprehensive plan workshops being held this Saturday, November 5 at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM in Town Hall (221 South Nursery Avenue, Purcellville, Virginia). These workshops will be the public’s final opportunity to provide input on the future of our community before an updated comprehensive plan is drafted at the end of the year. During each two-hour workshop, attendees will help determine the content of the updated comprehensive plan by taking part in group discussions and providing individual responses to questions covering five topics:
• Community Character and Design;
• Parks, Recreation, and the Environment;
• Economic Development;
• Public Services and Infrastructure; and
• Land Use.

These workshops are the last in a five-part series of community engagement events that the Town has held this year as it works to update the Purcellville, Virginia 2025 Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2006. As the official public document that articulates the community’s vision for its future, the Comprehensive Plan serves as a guide for decision-making and future development. Updating the Plan is a top priority of Town Council and the Planning Commission who want to ensure that the Plan’s goals and policies continue to accurately reflect the needs and desires of Purcellville residents.

Once the updated comprehensive plan is drafted, citizens will have an opportunity to provide additional comments while the document is considered by both the Planning Commission and Town Council.
