PURCELLVILLE, Va. September 15, 2016 — The Purcellville Planning Commission invites everyone interested in the future of Purcellville to take part in one of the three upcoming comprehensive plan workshops being held in September. The first two workshops will be held on Saturday, September 24 at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM in the Carver Center (200 E. Willie Palmer Way, Purcellville, Virginia). A third workshop will be held on Thursday, September 29 at 7:00 PM in Town Hall (221 South Nursery Avenue, Purcellville, Virginia).
Each two hour workshop will begin with an informational presentation about the current status of the comprehensive plan update process. This presentation will include summaries of the first three rounds of public engagement, the results of the exercises completed by the public during each round, and the findings of research and analysis conducted by the Town’s planning team. Following the presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to respond to posted questions that will provide further guidance for the Planning Commission’s ongoing work to update the comprehensive plan.
These workshops are part of a series of community engagement opportunities that the Town will hold in 2016 as it works to update the Purcellville, Virginia 2025 Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2006. As the official public document that articulates the community’s vision for its future, the Comprehensive Plan serves as a guide for decision-making and future development. Updating the Plan is a top priority of Town Council and the Planning Commission who want to ensure that the Plan’s goals and policies continue to accurately reflect the needs and desires of Purcellville residents.
