[ARCHIVED] News Release - Purcellville Popup Sale - Columbus Day Weekend

PURCELLVILLE, Va. September 8, 2016 — The Town of Purcellville is encouraging residents and businesses alike to participate in the “Purcellville Popup Sale,” formerly the Town-Wide Tag Sale, taking place on Columbus Day Weekend, October 8-9, 2016. Businesses can sell their own inventory while hosting other retailers at their locations, creating a tent sale atmosphere. Residents can also take this opportunity to sell their personal goods in a yard sale type setting.

This special weekend activity allows for all interested parties to take advantage of the Town-wide synergy of multiple vendors and a large selection of goods. While this activity has taken many forms over the years, it has always been a popular way for residents and visitors to find the very best items for sale in Town. Shoppers are encouraged to stroll throughout Town to visit all of the retailers, as well as to take advantage of the Town’s great restaurants and craft beverage options.

This year’s activity does not have a formal sponsor, nor is it an official event of the Town. However, the Town is helping coordinate a unified list of participating businesses and residents. There is no registration fee to participate, and no Event Permit is required. All participants are requested to fill out a simple online form located on the Town’s website at: http://www.purcellvilleva.gov/popupsale. All submissions received by Wednesday, September 28, 2016, will be included in a subsequent News Release for distribution to the media and public.

In addition, all submissions received through the activity date will be included on an online map, which will be located at the same webpage. This map will be accessible by computer or mobile devices, including direct integration with smartphone apps.

Whether you are a vendor or a consumer, we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to participate in this community-wide activity. For more information, please contact Melanie Scoggins at mscoggins@purcellvilleva.gov.
