Take part in the bike safety rodeo, where kids can get a free helmet, if needed. Show your style in the bike decoration contest and join the family fun ride. Visit the Purcellville Safety Center to meet local first responders, and explore fire, rescue, and law enforcement vehicles and equipment.

May is National Bike Month! Celebrate with the Town of Purcellville, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Purcellville Police Department, the Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company, and the Purcellville Volunteer Rescue Squad on Saturday, May 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting a Loudoun Valley High School!
Pedal Purcellville, kicking off at 9:00 a.m.
- Bike decorating contest.
- Prizes for first, second, and third place winners.
- In-town family fun ride lead by one of Purcellville PD Bike Officers and followed by Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company.
Bike Safety Rodeo, kicking off at 9:00 a.m.
- Helmet Fittings
- Helmet giveaways
- Bicycle Safety Inspections
- On-Bike Safety Course
- Passport for participants to get stamped at each location and a scavenger hunt to complete.
- Bicycle license for those who complete the passport and scavenger hunt.
- Prizes for those who earn their bicycle license, donated by Chick-Fil-A.
May 14 also kicks off National Police Week and EMS Week! To celebrate; Purcellville Police Department, Purcellville Volunteer Rescue Squad, and Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company are hosting a Public Safety Day at the Purcellville Safety Center, 500 N. Maple Ave. During the Pedal Purcellville Family Fun ride, stop by the Safety Center to see the following:
- Bike First Aide Station
- Displays of rescue, police, and fire vehicles and equipment
- Treats
- Activities for kids
