National Night Out
Tuesday, August 3, 2021
National Night Out is a nationwide annual community building campaign that takes place each year on the first Tuesday of August from 5:30 to 9:00 PM; it helps build police-community relations and neighborhood camaraderie to make our communities safer, better places to live. The Purcellville Police Department, along with other partner agencies, participates each year with a drive through town stopping at five pre-selected locations within the town limits.
On August 3, 2021, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., neighbors throughout Purcellville and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on their front porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement. Each year the Purcellville Police Department, and other local first responders caravan through town stopping in 4-5 neighborhoods that are hosting block parties and cookouts. Key stops include Giant parking lot at 5:30 pm for lineup and a free picnic, Purcellville Library at 6:30 pm for games and activities, and Loudoun Valley Community Center for an Ice Cream Social at 8:00 pm. All Purcellville neighbors are welcome to join us at the three key stops along the National Night route.
