Fireman's Field/Bush Tabernacle
This 13-acre property lies in the heart of Town and includes Dillon's Woods, the Bush Tabernacle, and the Fireman's Field stadium and sports fields. With activities from picnicking and roller skating to youth sports and great events, this property is a great place to spend time with friends and family.

Purcellville Train Station
The Purcellville Train Station is located in the downtown business district by the Washington and Old Dominion Trail (W&OD) where it meets North 21st Street. On May 28, 2010, the Train Station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the U.S. National Park Service. Also, as the largest train station in Loudoun County, it was listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register in March 2010. The Train Station includes facilities for the public at the end of the W&OD Trail, and it can also be reserved for events and meetings.

Where to Eat?

W&OD Trail
The W&OD Trail is one of the region's greatest recreational amenities, and we're excited that its terminus is in Purcellville. There are lots of great things to do (and places to eat and drink) right at the end of the Trail.

Purcellville Sports Grant
The Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board has awarded funds to local sports groups for 10 years. In 2020, these funds will be used host a Non-Profit Expo during which local non-profit organizations--sports, scouts, drama, history, community, veteran's groups, and others--will have a chance to feature what they offer and share information about how people can get involved. Watch for more details!

Monthly Nature Walks
The Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board hosts a series of nature walks that are led by local experts. The walks are held the last Sunday of each month, typically starting at 1 p.m. and often held at the Chapman DeMary Trail.

Wonder of Trees Poster Contest
The Town of Purcellville’s Tree and Environment Sustainability Committee and the Purcellville Arts Council are pleased to announce the Wonder of Trees Poster Contest for students. Winners were announced in April 2020.

Purcellville Rocks!
Purcellville Rocks is a scavenger hunt for painted rocks in parks, trails, and other places in the Town of Purcellville. The scavenger hunt will start on Saturday, August 15 and end on October 4, 2020. Ten participants of Purcellville Rocks will win two $10 vouchers to use at any of the Purcellville businesses participating in the voucher program. A second drawing for another set of two $10 vouchers will be held for all who correctly answer the bonus question on the registration form. We encourage all to join in this fun, family-friendly activity.

Chapman DeMary Trail
The Chapman DeMary Trail officially opened in 2009. This 10-acre area is considered to be the last stand of old growth forest in the Town. There is a one-mile trail through the area, as well as picnic tables, benches, information signs, and a variety of activities. Parking is available behind the building at 205 East Hirst Road. The trail is open to the public from dawn to dusk.

Suzanne R. Kane Nature Preserve
The Suzanne R. Kane Nature Preserve is located between Rt. 690 North and Hatcher Avenue. This area was named for the late Suzanne Kane in 2005. The preserve is open to the public, and a nice place to take a walk.

Outdoor Movies
The Purcellville Parks and Recreation Division is pleased to present the first in a series of three movies that will be shown in Dillon's Woods next to Fireman's Field. Space is limited and reservations are required in advance. Please bring your own blanket or lawn chairs, as well as snacks. Reserve your space and get more information.

The Town of Purcellville partners with Keep Loudoun Beautiful for the annual Town-wide clean-up in March or April every year.
