Community engagement is the cornerstone of our policing philosophy and we strongly believe in the partnership between the police and the public. Serving at the Police Department, there are sixteen sworn Police Officers, a Business Manager, and an Administrative Assistant/Records Manager; our team collaborates with community members through the Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) program. VIPS members support the department through a variety of activities including but not limited to Purcellville Citizen Support Team members, Homework Club Tutors, Customer Service Specialists, Language Interpreters, Police Chaplains, Child Safety Seat Inspectors, and more.
The administrative hours for the Purcellville Police Department are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Our administrative office is closed for all Town recognized holidays.
Our mission is to provide law enforcement services in partnership with the community that ensure a safe environment with the highest quality of life for all residents, business owners, and visitors to enjoy.
