Internet Hotspot
The Town of Purcellville and Roadstar Wireless, Inc. have entered into a public-private partnership to provide high speed internet service at hot spots located at the historic Purcellville Train Station and the new Northern Gateway Parking Facility. The first component of the Program included installation of a hot spot at Town Hall. Roadstar is a local wireless high speed internet service provider serving all of western Loudoun County.
Roadstar has a strong commitment to the local community and the free provision of hot spots for the Train Station and Gateway Parking Facility reflect this corporate philosophy.
The site for the Northern Gateway Parking Facility was obtained with a federal Transportation Enhancement Grant in 2000 and generous donations from the Martin and Lewis families. The entire parking lot construction was part of a parking requirement and a donation to the people of the Town of Purcellville from the late Bruce Brownell. The Town has recently been awarded an additional Transportation Enhancement Grant to complete the lighting and landscaping of the parking facility with minimal use of local funding.
